Jewellery box with label to...

From simple wood covered with velvet, much appreciated by the Americans, to the gilded bronze and lacquered marquetry so popular under Napoleon III, via esoteric versions in zinc and tortoiseshell, so many avenues were explored! Under the Second Empire, for example, the size of these cases was reduced, while being extravagantly decorated with gold leaf and ivory. In comparison, American jewellery boxes of the late 19th century appear more austere, and Victorian English boxes are often more voluminous and padded on the inside. Decorated with straight-edged geometric designs, they may have only a simple engraved cartouche as a touch of folly. Another key period for jewellery boxes, at the dawn of women's emancipation, was Art Nouveau and its "whip" shapes. The article we present to you is made of faux leather in a rectangular format to escape the standardisation of jewellery boxes, "Made in China" you have the opportunity to find decorations for almost every imaginable occasion: Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, birthdays, and of course, we can apply your photo on the lid of this jewellery box. Just choose the jewellery box with the desired decoration. If you are looking for a gift with a decoration for a specific occasion, thanks to this jewellery box with decoration and text to be personalised, you decide on the event and the comment to add!

Jewellery box with mother's...

Made of regula, copper, gold or even silver, the boxes of these years are often decorated with silk or satin. Because of their delicate workmanship and fragile materials, the boxes in their original state are almost impossible to find. There were, however, many of them, after they became popular at the turn of the 1900s. But in the months following 1918, they simply disappeared from manufacturers' catalogues, to be replaced by boxes made of imitation ivory and celluloid, the famous ivory that the English call "French Ivory". The limitation of materials and the changes in codes brought about by the art deco movement resulted in an extreme simplification of the ornamentation. Lack of imagination or generalised paranoia, the jewellery boxes of the 20th century seem to have been supplanted by bank vaults. There is no need to take so many precautions, because the most daring will tell you that no secret is inviolable... * The gift we are offering you is a rectangular faux leather design to escape the uniformity of the "Made in China" jewellery boxes. You have the opportunity to find designs for almost all obvious occasions: Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, birthdays, and of course we can apply your photo on the lid of this jewellery box . Just choose the jewellery box with the desired decoration. A gift for Mother's Day? A jewellery box of course, an unusual gift for Mother's Day! This jewellery box will be personalised with your own text and a label dedicated to Mother's Day, gift ideas for mum.

Jewellery box with gold and...

The privilege of the aristocrats at the beginning and for hundreds of years, the popularisation of jewellery boxes did not begin until the beginning of the 19th century following the industrialisation of many manufacturing processes which became factories and of course production lines. Thus, more modest families could afford jewellery boxes to preserve jewellery and other precious items passed down from parents, grandparents, great-grandparents or any other family member in a more permanent way. However, some objects inherited from a distant and not always shameful past are frowned upon today, such as ivory jewellery. It should also be pointed out that there are simple jewellery boxes without compartments and other jewellery boxes with many compartments, of course the prices vary greatly. There are also musical jewellery boxes. Today we find music boxes at all prices, music boxes that have become gadgets that many people know. Music boxes were the only instrument that allowed you to listen to a melody if you were not a musician! The music box had its heyday in the early 19th century. The object we offer is made of faux leather in a rectangular shape to escape the standardisation of jewellery boxes, "Made in China". You have the possibility to find decorations for almost every imaginable event: Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, birthdays, and of course we can apply your photo on the lid of this jewellery box. Just choose the jewellery box with the desired decoration. A jewellery box with a gold coloured anniversary label! Jewellery box with number...

In the West, one of the best-known ancestors of the jewellery box is the shrine, a stone, wooden or metal coffin in which the remains of a dead person are enclosed. Is it really necessary to dissociate its uses, whether sacred or profane, when we know to what extent emeralds, diamonds, rubies and other sapphires are still today the object of a fascination that sometimes borders on devotion? "At the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries, their sizes diminished, allowing them to be covered with precious materials, whether fabric, enamel or stones. Visually, all these boxes lost their coffin-like appearance and took on the shape of small monuments evoking chapels or churches. Also at this time, cast iron was combined with pushed, stamped or embossed metal. The jewellery box then became less aristocratic. The gift we are offering you is a rectangular faux leather design to escape the uniformity of the "Made in China" jewellery boxes. You have the opportunity to find designs for almost all obvious occasions: Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, birthdays, and of course we can apply your photo on the lid of this jewellery box . Just choose the jewellery box with the desired decoration. A birthday gift for a special unique birthday, birthday gift ideas, for a birthday whose date is an unforgettable number, what could be more fabulous! birthday gifts to personalise, gifts to offer to whom you want!

Star wars Jedi Alarm clock

An alarm clock is a device that produces a sound at a pre-determined time set on an appropriate system by the owner of the alarm clock.

It may be a device designed for this purpose, generally a clock, or other devices with an alarm function, such as a computer, radio, television, watch or mobile phone.

However, these days there are many different types of alarm clock, from the simplest to the most complex and sophisticated.

Personally, I need three alarm clocks to open one eye, especially in winter.

The first electric alarm clock was created by the American Levi Hutchins in 1787. Thanks to this young apprentice watchmaker who, according to legend, had trouble getting up in the morning. He developed an ingenious alarm clock, but did not market or develop it. Antoine Redier, a French watchmaker and inventor, was the first, in 1847, to register a patent for a mechanical alarm clock with adjustable settings…

At the end of the 19th century, alarm clocks became an essential part of the daily lives of millions of workers and employees. In the United States, the Ansonia brand produced round alarm clocks topped with a bell. In France, Japy in Franche-Comté and Bayard in Haute-Normandie began producing competing models. In the early 1930s, Japy enjoyed great success with its "Silencieux" model (rubber dampens the sound), while Bayard marketed the very popular "Sonnfor", "Tapageur" and Mickey Mouse and then Snow White animated alarm clocks.

Croquet

The origin of croquet can be traced back to the game of pall-mall which was played in the French countryside in the Middle Ages. It was Louis XIV who had it transferred to the table in his palace so that it could be played even in winter and the game would then have become billiards. The English copied the game around 1300 and, after many developments, it became golf in Scotland and croquet in Ireland. Popularised during the second half of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century, contemporary croquet is mainly practised by Anglo-Saxons: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, India, etc. For many of us, this croquet game seems to be just a pleasant pastime and an ideal wooden game idea to offer as a birthday present for dad or as a fun gift for young people. Croquet also brings enthusiasts together in a Belgian federation that was founded in 1994 and which organises tournaments. Croquet can be played alone or in teams, most often on grass, but sometimes on the beach (sand) and even on ice. Teams range from two to eight players. The aim is to make the wooden ball go through the field as quickly as possible by advancing it with a mallet. The ball must follow a precise course, delimited by hoops, under which the ball must pass. The courses differ according to the number of hoops to be crossed, the direction of the course, etc. A fun outdoor game to play with family or friends.

Chess and Backgammon

This wooden game box offers the possibility to play with the two board games most practiced in many families: chess and jacquet. This box is portable thanks to its handle. It is a remarkable and practical gift that will please the lovers of wooden board games. The box is carefully worked with marquetry in the lid. The learning of the backgammon game is quite fast. The goal of the game is to be the first to have brought all his pieces to his camp, called jan, and to have taken them out of the board one by one. Backgammon is a game in which luck intervenes and where strategy and experience are paramount. While having fun, the game of chess allows children and adults to develop their concentration, creativity, and improve their strategy and memory. It is the king of the board game and has many followers all over the world. It is fairly easy to learn. The chess game is played on the outside of the box. All the pieces, except the king, can be taken from each other. The object of the game is to make the king mate because the king is threatened with capture at the next move and no parry is possible to avoid it. A fun gift for the whole family, from classic games that are passed down from generation to generation, to rules known by everyone, from children to grandparents. Offer these wooden board games, an entertaining gift for moments of relaxation and conviviality.

Shiny Plug-in Puzzle

The choice of images for the puzzles is infinite...It can be a landscape, a monument, a beautiful car. However, here, it cannot be said that this game meets the criteria of a simple puzzle. The puzzle is generally a game based on the principle of reconstructing an image, a flat or 3-dimensional object based on the initial image of the game before it is dislocated, the image that most often accompanies the puzzle. But here, it is you who imagine the image of the puzzle. Here is the original gift, the unusual gift, a gift that is both a game and a means of communication, a very good system to display a little message for mom's birthday from daddy or whoever you want. This puzzle can be used as a bulletin board for a party, for the proverb of the day, for a reminder or for a message for your lover(s) or any other announcement or note that you want to let the children, your partner or relatives know. Of course, this type of display already exists, but none of them is in colour and even less bright! This puzzle can also be used to start reading and writing. The bright, colourful cards are more motivating and fun than an often sad and unattractive black and white board. This puzzle can also be used to spread the mood of the moment, a stopwatch before an event such as: day-5 before the holidays... Moreover, the led lights are therefore good for the planet and your wallet...

Himalayan salt crystal...

Where do salt stone lamps come from?

The region where the salt is mined is called Khewra. Kherwa, about 160 km from Islamabad, is a town in the foothills of the Himalayas in the Punjab region of Pakistan. The origin of the fossil salt corresponds to the evaporation of an inland sea 800 million years ago. The formation of the Himalayas raised the soils of the region and caused the salt rocks to outcrop near the surface.

According to legend, the mine was discovered by Alexander the Great's troops in the 4th century BC. His army's horses, tired after a battle, regained their strength after licking stones in caves, thus discovering the salt deposit. Commercial and artisanal mining began in the 13th century under the Mughals. In the 19th century, the British improved access to the mine by levelling the previously dangerous mountain road, upgrading and securing the drifts and building warehouses to allow industrial mining.

As of 2012, the Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation operates the mine, which has proven mineable reserves of at least 82 million tonnes.

Kherwa is also a major tourist destination, attracting over 40,000 visitors each year. The mine can be visited on foot or by small train pulled by an electric vehicle built in the 1930s. The salt caves are home to unusual sculptures and structures, such as a mosque built with luminous salt stones of different colours and a statue of the great poet Mohamed.
