Today, unicorns are trendy. Yet they have always fascinated people since the dawn of time. In the past, they were not as cute as they are today.

They adorned tapestries in the Middle Ages. According to legend, only a virgin girl with a pure heart could approach them. Endowed with magical powers, their horn was coveted as an antidote to poisons. 

In the film Harry Potter and the School of Wizards, Hagrid takes Harry Potter and his friends to the Forbidden Forest, as unicorns are subject to many attacks. Hagrid explains that unicorns have very powerful magic powers. They are so fast that it is almost impossible to capture them. Unfortunately, they find a dead unicorn, killed by Voldemort, who drinks its blood to keep himself alive.
